Travelling through Delhi Airport for the first time and wondering how to transfer between Terminal 2 (T2) and Terminal 3 (T3)? You are not alone. I have often come across questions from travellers on different travel forums about how to walk between these two terminals.
In this guide, I will explain how to transfer between Delhi Airport Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 on foot, including the route from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2, the route in the opposite direction, and how to reach the Delhi Metro station.
The good news is that Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are within walking distance of each other, and you do not need to take a bus or taxi just to travel between them. The following directions and photographs will help you find your way.
Delhi Airport Terminal 2 vs Terminal 3
Delhi Airport has three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handle domestic flights, while Terminal 3 also handles international flights.
T2 and T3 are located opposite each other, with a pedestrian route connecting them. Under normal conditions, the walk takes approximately five minutes, although the actual time may vary depending on your walking speed, luggage and the route conditions.
The walkway is well lit and marked, and much of it is covered. You can generally walk with your luggage trolley, although you will need to cross roadways along the way.
In fact, the walk between T2 and T3 can feel shorter than the distance you cover walking from your aircraft to the exit inside Terminal 3!
Important: Before setting out, check your flight details and terminal information. Terminal assignments and airport access arrangements can change, so always follow the latest airport signs.
1. How to Walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2
If you arrive at Terminal 3 and need to reach Terminal 2 for your connecting domestic flight, follow these directions.
Step 1: Find your way towards the left after exiting Terminal 3
After coming out of Terminal 3, turn left, regardless of which arrival exit you use, and continue walking towards the end of the building.
In the route described here, Gate 1 is towards the right and Gate 6 is towards the left. Continue towards the far end, where you will find a food court.
Step 2: Find the pedestrian walkway near the food court
Walk through the passage between the food court and Pillar No. 18. You will see a pathway going straight ahead.
Follow this pedestrian route. You will first cross a roadway, then walk past a parking area and a waiting area for bus passengers.
Continue straight and cross another roadway. You will then enter a tunnel-like covered passage that leads towards Terminal 2.
Step 3: Reach Terminal 2 Arrivals
At the end of the passage, you will arrive at Terminal 2’s arrivals area.
If you need to catch a flight from Terminal 2, proceed to the departure level using the stairs or elevator.
Allow extra time if you have checked baggage, need to check in again, or must complete security screening for your next flight.

2. How to Walk from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3
The reverse route is equally straightforward. If you arrive at Terminal 2 and need to reach Terminal 3, you can follow the pedestrian walkway.
Step 1: Exit Terminal 2
Terminal 2 has an exit leading to the outside forecourt. After coming out of the terminal, you will find the taxi, bus and pickup areas to your left.
To walk towards Terminal 3 or the Metro station, follow the airport signs and continue along the pedestrian route towards Terminal 3.
The photographs below show the exit and the direction to follow.

Step 2: Continue towards Terminal 3
Follow the signs and continue walking along the pedestrian path. Under normal conditions, you should reach Terminal 3 in approximately five minutes.
Once you reach Terminal 3, enter the terminal and follow the signs to your airline’s check-in counter or departure area.
Remember that reaching the terminal building is not the same as completing your flight check-in and security screening. Keep sufficient time for these formalities.

3. How to Reach the Delhi Metro Station from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3
If you are planning to continue your journey by Metro, you can also reach the airport Metro station on foot from these terminal areas.
From Terminal 3
After exiting Terminal 3, follow the pedestrian route towards the Metro station. In the route described in this guide, the Metro entrance is near Pillar No. 10, across the driveway.
If you are coming from the Metro station and need to walk towards Terminal 2, use the exit at Level 0, rather than the Level 1 exit that connects directly to the terminal building’s mezzanine floor. From Level 0, cross the driveway and walk towards Terminal 3. Near Pillar No. 10, turn right and continue towards the end of the building, then follow the directions in the first section above.
Follow the current airport and Metro signs, as access arrangements may change.
