CSMI Airport Mumbai have two operating terminal . Terminal 1 and Terminal 2,though both terminal share common runway but distance wise both are far away, around 5 km .
Terminal 1 is situated at SantaCruz and Terminal 2 is at Sahar (Ville Parle).
Flight Operation
Terminal 1
T1 is domestic terminal ,Spice jet , Akasa air , Star air and Indigo operates from T1.
Terminal 2
All international flight plus domestic flight of Air India and few Indigo domestic flight.
As airport have 2 terminals so there are many travellers who need to change terminal for connecting flight. There is no airside transfer options even when flying on same PNR ,have to change terminal land side after exiting the terminal.
The route between the terminal goes through a busy road, expect average 15/20 min ride.

There are 2 way to transfer between terminal ,Taxi or complementary shuttle bus.
Easiest is prepaid cab ,it has booking kiosk at T1 arrival just before exit (and outside too) ,at T2 it has booking kiosk at arrival hall and near boarding point at basement level. Fare is fix, last I know it was 350 for non ac cab.

Other option is shuttle bus operated by Airport company. At T1 boarding point is just outside arrivals. once exit from arrivals take right turn and walk towards departure and after 50 ft can see bus boarding point ,Just join the queue. At T2 bus will drop at departure level.

There are plan to connect T1 and T2 via a tunnel internally for easy transfer and for that work will start in May and can take 2 years to complete and till now have to use these taxi and cab for transfer.
